We are delighted to welcome you to the first World Health Summit (WHS) Regional Meeting in India in New Delhi. This prestigious and novel event is hosted by NIMS University as member of the WHS Academic Alliance (formerly M8 Alliance) in collaboration with Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Ashoka University.

In these very energetic and challenging times, this meeting holds immense significance for global health, with a special focus on South Asia and the Southeast Asian and Indo- Pacific regions. It builds on the bold commitments made by the Indian G20 presidency and celebrates the extraordinary health achievements and innovations of India and the other states in the region. The geo-political importance and outstanding dynamics of this region, combined with the strong involvement of the highest levels of the Indian government and state actors from the region, draws global interest and attention. This is also reflected by the involvement of the WHO regional offices.

In the best tradition of the World Health Summit, this Regional Meeting brings together a broad range of stakeholders from all sectors, backgrounds and regions worldwide. It serves as a unique platform to highlight the pivotal role of India and its neighbors and partners in advancing global health initiatives and focuses on timely and relevant topics that are poised to shape the future of health in the region and globally.

Key topics include AI in medicine, digital determinants of health, health and space, manufacturing of health products, scaling health coverage, women's and children's health, and integrative health systems. A special emphasis is placed on the health of future generations, capitalizing on the demographic dividend in India and other countries in the region.
